📌 Work alongside another Peer Supporter in providing a listening ear and social support, guiding and supporting youths to empower them to enhance their emotional regulation, interpersonal and coping skills.
📌 Walk with Me (WWM) is a pilot peer support programme for youths/service users aged 15-25 who are engaging/at risk of NSSI.
📌 WWM aims to reduce prevalence of NSSI behaviors and improve youths' mental wellness in the longer run. This is an add-on service, to complement and support existing professional intervention.
📌There will be 2 runs, across a 1-year time frame (Sept 22 – Aug 23).
📌 Programme objectives for youths/service users include (1) increasing their social assets, (2) strengthening their interpersonal skills, (3) social support-seeking behaviors as well as (4) emotional regulation and coping skills.
📌 Programme also aims to build up a community of peer supporters, that feel empowered in their ability to effect change and advocate for youths with NSSI in society.
📌 Programme objectives for peer supporters/volunteers include (1) equipping them with knowledge of the needs of youths with NSSI to facilitate advocacy and (2) increasing self-efficacy of peer supporters in providing empathetic emotional support to youths with/at risk of NSSI.

Key Responsibilities :
📌 Attend all volunteer training sessions and group supervision sessions
📌 At least once a month meet-up with youth and supportive check-ins along the way
📌 Support youth in accessing mental health services and resources if needed
📌 Work closely with paired peer supporter to support the youth
📌 Seek support and highlight issues where necessary and required
Role Requirements :
📌 Fully vaccinated
📌 19 – 35 years old
📌 Can commit minimally 8 months [ either 1st run which starts in Oct 22; or 2nd run which starts in Feb 23]
📌 Willing and able to commit to trainings, group supervision sessions and monthly meetups with youths
📌 Onboarding & Training dates (1st Run): On-boarding session on a weekday night in the 1st week of November. Full-day training on 5th and 12th November.
📌 Comfortable working with youths aged 15 to 25 years old
📌 Comfortable supporting youths at risk of or engaging in NSSI
📌 Enjoy interacting with youths and supporting them with their mental health concerns in their mental wellness journey
Run 1 : Oct 2022 - May 2023 (Trainings on weekday nights/Saturdays in mid-Oct to mid Nov,flexible group supervisions and monthly meet-up with youths in Nov-Apr/May 23]
Run 2: Jan 2023 - Aug 2023 (Training tentatively scheduled to be on two Saturdays in mid-January 2023, with the on-boarding session scheduled on a weekday night prior to the training. The 6-month peer supporting journey will start in February 2023).
Trainings for both runs will be conducted face-to-face, aside from the on-boarding session which will be conducted online.
