1) Study Buddy 


Study Buddy homework motivation programme for children_SHINE Children and Youth Services_Youth Corps Development Team @ SHINE_ Volunteering

Study Buddy is a homework motivational programme for children aged 7-12 years old, supported by volunteers of SHINE to provide a healthy study environment, encourage routine with time for studying and practice of cognitive games in their playtime to enhance self-management skills.

As a Reading Mentor, you will:

📌 Be role model/ mentor positive study habits to the children/ pre teens

📌 Encourage Positive self-management skills

📌 Inculcate the spirit of growth and drive to be motivated

📌 To be present physically at the location, to guide and coach

📌 To be patient and pleasant

📌 To attend and participate in trainings, Previews , Reviews, briefing and debriefings

🕣: Every Tues, 4.30pm - 6pm

2) Youth Inspirator

Youth Inspirator_SHINE Children and Youth Services_Youth Corp Singapore_Volunteering

Queensway Secondary School-SHINE Mentoring Programme, focusing on positive youth development through school-based mentoring


Requirements:

  • Minimum 18 years old (*Mentees are 15 years old)

  • Commitment to all mentoring sessions (dates shared during screening interview)

  • Developmental attitude towards youths; prior youth work experience is a bonus


Date & Time:

Tuesdays, 12:30 - 3 pm @ Queensway Secondary. Weekly sessions from now to the end of August 2024. No sessions during the June school term breaks.

Calling all Youth Volunteers!!🔊  

  

Join us as a volunteer befriender at the SURE Festival, where you'll help raise awareness and promote information literacy by teaching participants about the SURE principles: Source, Understand, Research and Evaluate. Engage with the public to enhance their ability to assess news reliability and enjoy a $5 meal allowance if you cover two earlier shifts. Contribute to creating a more informed community while gaining valuable experience yourself!

Join us for the Be A Samaritan (BAS) program by SOS! In this 2-hour workshop, you'll gain invaluable skills in first-response using the '3A approach.' Discover how to swiftly recognize signs of suicide distress, approach individuals with empathy to discuss their thoughts, and provide crucial assistance by connecting them with supportive community resources.


Be part of a proactive movement towards saving lives and fostering a compassionate community.🫶

As a Volunteer Befriender (VB), you will engage in Nagomi art sessions, a calming and therapeutic Japanese art form that fosters relaxation and emotional well-being. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to enhance seniors' well-being through mindfulness activities💆‍♀️ and tea sessions☕️!

As a Volunteer Coordinator (VC), you will be facilitating the Nagomi art sessions, gaining facilitation skills and leading the VBs and seniors in forming meaningful connections and mindfulness! 🌷 1) Project OMEGA @ Sunlove AAC (Serangoon)
